Wave Timer Manual
Create a Http request as an action in Wave and send the JSON (example below) to http://localhost:8008/timer and you will get an event back after the timer runs out.
The http message user/password should be for a Wave user in the system with rights to create event. Authentication type should be Basic. Everything else should be set to Auto.
This is an example of a JSON message looks like, be aware that some values need double quotes and some don't:
{
"Timerid":"1",
"ServerIP":"127.0.0.1",
"TimeValue":"30",
"DayOfWeek":"All",
"TimeType": "seconds",
"Enable": true,
"RemoveAfterAction": false,
"Source": "TEST",
"Caption": "TEST",
"Description": "TEST"
}
Timerid = This is the id of the timer, if you want to update the timer with new values use same id and other values
ServerIP = The IP of the Wave server the event will be sent to
TimeValue = How long time in hour, minutes or seconds do you want the timer to runs.
If TimeType is atDateTime then the value can be a specific datetime in the folowing format "2023-07-04T14:00:00" (Year:Month:DayTHour:Minute:Second).
If TimeType is atTime then the value can be a time of day in the format "14:00:00" (Hour:Minute:Second). This will be triggered every day at this time if RemoveAfterAction is not true.
TimeType = values can be hours, minutes, seconds, atDateTime or atTime. A timer with atDateTime will always be deleted after it has been triggered.
DayOfWeek = Default value is All wich means timer runs every day, if value is Weekday timer executes Mon-Fri and not weekends. If value is Weekend timer executes Sat-Sun but not weekdays.
Enable = true means it will start running, false means it will be deleted. This is useful if you want to delete a timer before it has triggered or if you set the RemoveAfterAction to false
RemoveAfterAction = if this is true the timer will be deleted after it has been triggered the first time, if it is false it will run again and again until it is deleted manually. If this parameter is not set it is considered to be false.
Source, Caption and Description is the message parameters sent to Wave as a Generic event that you can use to trigger any action in Wave.
If the parameters Source, Caption, Description has the keyword $random1-20$ it will be replaced with a random number between 1-20. The numbers can be of any value so
creating a random number between 3 and 78 means the keyword should be $random3-78$. The keyword can also include a prefix to look something like this: preset_$random1-10$ meaning
the parameter can be changed to preset_4 (or any random number between 1-10). This is very useful if you like to have a PTZ camera move to different presets randomly instead of a predefined pattern.
If you want a timer to start at a specific time every day, you can add a timer type atDateTime and give the time. Then create a rule in Wave with action server started
and give json info as a http message. This means if the Wave server is restarted the timer is added to the system again.
